Step 1 is to copy the reference list generated by EndNote (or whatever I was using for that paper) into the section at the end of the paper.
Format each reference like so:
: [1] Smith, Smith and Smith. A very big important paper. pp. 666-667, 2012. : [2] Jones, Jones and Jones. An even MORE important paper, pp. 2-3, 2013.
'NOTE that there are no spaces before the colons. The above gives you:
